"Well, what shall we do now?" Nick asked, walking off a large
bridge, completely soaked.
"Well, I want to go wring out my shorts in the bathroom then we can go on
some other rides," I laughed. We had just gotten off the Tidal Wave.
That’s a ride where you get wet going down hill then you get soaked on a
bridge on your way off the ride. If you are dumb enough to go on it, you’d
better not whine about getting wet.
"Wait, there are only two more water rides, lets go get drenched then buy
new clothes. Whatta ya say?" Nick suggested excitedly.
"Okay. Lets go!" I grinned. I was already dripping wet and I didn’t
mind seeing Nick with his clothes sticking to his body.
Nick smiled and grabbed my hand. He took me to a large sign that said
"Congo River Rapids," I had gone on that last summer with Lara. Nick
passed through a handicapped entrance.
"Where’d you get that pass?" I asked, noticing for the first time
that a blue pass was hanging from Nick’s neck.
"I always have it with me. In case we don’t feel like being bothered by
fans and stuff, we use it and get right on the ride."
"That’s unfair to all the other people!" I said, feeling bad for the
others who stood in the long line.
"Did you really want to spend 2 hours waiting in that line?"
"Well, not really."
"Okay then. Come on, this way," Nick pulled me onto a huge raft. He
fastened the buckle on our seat belt and we were off.
Cold water splashed at us from all directions. I clung Nick every time the water
hit me. He put his arm around me and held me close to try to keep me dry. It, of
course, didn’t work because we were both wet already.
The raft wet under a bridge and people above it looked down on us.
"LOOK!!! IT’S NICK CARTER!!!!" some girl screamed from the bridge.
"LETS GET HIM!" a bunch of 14 year old boys shouted and ran over to
water cannons. Seconds later, water came shooting out and hit Nick and I square
in the back.
"AHHHHHHHHH" Nick and I screamed in unison. Luckily the raft quickly
floated away and we didn’t have to get hit again with the water cannons.
"That was fun, but I’m not going on another water ride at the moment.
Sorry, that was enough for me," I confessed.
"Yeah, me too. Let’s go get clothes then find some place for lunch,"
Nick said, tugging me in the direction of a surf shop. We went inside and
started to look the clothes over.
"Pick up whatever you want, it’s on me," Nick whispered in my ear as
he hugged me from behind.
"Thanks Nicky," I said kissing him softly.
"No problem baby, just don’t call me Nicky."
"Okay…Nickers."
"That’s not any better. Nick is just fine for now."
"Okay!" I said, giving Nick a little peck on the cheek. Then I went
off to find clothes.
I picked up a pair of red board shorts with white flowers on the sides. I held
them up to me in a mirror and they looked good. Item #1 found. I soon after
found a black halter top. Item #2 found. I was done and headed to find Nick.
"What’d you find baby?" Nick asked from behind me.
"Stuff, you?"
"What stuff? I found board shorts and a tank top."
"Board shorts and a halter top," I said, holding up the articles of
clothing.
"Revealing. Hmm…"
"Shut up Pervert Boy."
"Fine…Do you want them?" Nick asked, motioning to the clothes.
"Sure. Why not," I retorted, handing the clothes to Nick.
Nick paid then we left the store to change. Nick gave me my clothes and I headed
to the girls bathroom. I went into a stall and pulled off my wet jean shorts and
maroon spaghetti strap shirt. I put on my new clothes and headed out of the
stall, shoving my old clothes into the shopping bag.
"_____," some girl said as I walked by.
"What? Who said that?" I asked, turning in all directions.
"I did," a girl around 16 said. I recognized her from the bridge.
"What do you want?" I interrogated, not looking for a problem.
"I want my man."
"Your man?"
"Yes, Nick, he’s mine."
"Sorry, nope. I’m his girlfriend. And as far as I know, he doesn’t even
know you."
"He’s mine. You’ll see," she said, getting in my face.
"No, he’s not and never will be," I replied coldly and truthfully.
The girl went to slap me and I automatically reacted. I punched her right in the
chin.
"He’ll never be yours. Deal with it," I said, leaving the bathroom
and the girl behind.
"What happened?!?!" Nick asked worriedly.
"What do you mean?" I tried to conceal the whole bathroom incident.
"There’s blood on your knuckle. What happened?"
"Remember the girl from the bridge? The one that recognized you?"
"Yeah…"
"She said you were hers and then she tried to slap me. I decked her in the
head. No big deal."
"Go Lynn!" he smiled.
"I love you Nick."
"Right back at ya baby," Nick said, hugging me once again.
