*Brian*

"Kevin?" I asked frantically. I’d just gotten off the phone with Lara cause I had to find my lucky Kentucky Wildcats hat. I realized that Kevin had it and had to call him.

"What Cuz?" Kevin answered.

"I left my hat at your house. I know you’re probably busy, doing whatever you do…meditate, smoke, sleep, whatever…but can I come get it?" I joked.

"Brian, I’m only doing this cause I love ya. Now get over here before I decide to go back to reading ‘Interview With A Vampire’ for the billionth time," Kevin laughed and hung up. I hastily grabbed the keys to my Jeep and headed to Kevin’s house.

"Open up Kev!" I shouted through the closed door. I heard Kevin play with the lock then the door swung open. Kevin stood in the doorway with my hat in his hand.

"Thank you so much. This is my lucky hat ya know," I smiled and grabbed it from his hands.

"Lucky hat to get you lucky?" Kevin grinned slyly. I hit him on the arm and backed away before he could grab me.

"Please do me a favor when you’re in Florida…ASK LARA OUT ALREADY!!!! I know you want to! Oh, and tell her I say hey!" Kevin shouted as I got back in my Jeep.

"Whatever Richardson!!!" I yelled back at my cousin. Kevin sighed then went back into his house. I drove away thinking of what Kev had just said.

"Should I ask her out? I like her, but as, well, a sister. I mean, God, she’s so sweet to give up her life for me. To lie for me. She must really love me for that. Whoa, why couldn’t I see this before? I love Lara" I thought to myself then smiled the smile I knew Lara loved. I pulled into my driveway and ran inside.

I reached for the phone and dialed up Lara’s beeper number. That way if Lynn was there, Lara could make an excuse and pretend it was her mom or something. I typed in 747-5568 (my number), then hung up. I kept the phone in my hand and picked it up on the first ring.

"Lara?" I asked quickly.

"Yeah, what’s wrong??" she asked, automatically concerned.

"Nothing, I was on my way home form Kevin’s when I realized something. I never told you how much I miss you," I lied. Well, not really. It was close to the truth.

"I miss you too Bri. I’ll see you tomorrow though and we’ll catch up on the lost time. What has it been…4 months since I last saw you?" she laughed.

"4 months, 6 days, 4 hours, and 21 minutes," I thought in my head. I’d counted every minute that went by without her, but only replied "yeah".

"Okay, well, I have to go. Lynn is going to get suspicious. Loves ya B-Rok," Lara said and hung up before I could reply.

"If you only did love me," I said sadly then sulked over to my suitcase and began to pack.
